Ski Trip Weekend

This past weekend I went to Lead, SD to go skiing at Terry Peak Ski Area!  It was a lot of fun.
After work on Friday, Scott, Heidi and myself drove to Lead but we stopped in Deadwood on the way.  We ate dinner at Diamond Lil's (one of Kevin Costner's restaurants) and stopped to gather groceries before heading to the cabin a bunch of us rented.  The cabin was amazing!  It slept twelve and had a hot tub, it was perfect for the short weekend away.  I was a bit of a party pooper on Friday, I went to bed a tad early because I knew Saturday would be a long day (plus, I don't ever sleep in anymore - my internal clock wakes me up between 7 and 8 AM).

Of course on Saturday morning I woke up bright and early.  I bundled up (like the rest of the group) and we were off to the mountain!  I started on the bunny hill with Heidi.  It had been three years since I last skied but I picked up right where I left off.  I felt pretty good on the bunny hill and the green runs so after lunch I made off to the blue runs.  I was having a pretty good day until I found myself on top of a black diamond run with nowhere to go but down - ugh!  I eventually made it down the hill only after a few falls, haha.  I'm sure I looked absolutely ridiculous.  The day was very cold but after some picture taking, falling (a lot), and trying to warm up in the lodge it was time to go back to the cabin and play some drinking games!

One of the lodges on the mountain (taken from the top of the bunny hill - don't judge!)

Heidi and I on the lift!

The whole gang, we had two separate cabins.

After falling hard on my hip (maybe more than once) I really wanted to get in the hot tub, so a couple of us grabbed some beers and hopped in.  It definitely did the trick or maybe it was the beers, but I was feeling pretty good after soaking in the hot tub. :)  Heidi and I won a few games of beer pong and then we decided to get out the cards for some card games.  I believe everyone was in bed by 11 PM.

I had to get up pretty early on Sunday to be back in time for play rehearsal at 1 PM.  Sunday was a pretty long day, even though I slept almost the entire car ride back to Pierre, play rehearsal lasted 8 1/2 hours.  Woofta!  Since the preview performance is now less than two weeks away, we have been having pretty long rehearsals and maybe two days off a week.  It's worth it though, meeting new people and making new friends is always fun in my book.

Isla Marie is One year old!

January 26, 2013
My beautiful niece, Isla, was born!
Isla Marie Nyberg
6.6 lbs
19 1/2 inches long
Born at 7:49 pm

Although I could not be there while she was born, I was blessed to be updated every hour of Danielle's progress and and finally with the pictures of my precious niece with the people I love most!  I cannot believe she is now a One year old walking and babbling girl.

The first time I laid eyes on her, I instantly fell in love.

And because I live so far away and do not get to see her as often as I would like, I was (and still am) gifted with daily pictures of her growing too fast and her absolutely adorable facial expressions.

(The BEST Goddaughter I could ask for)

California vacation, October 2013

So many beautiful memories of last year and I cannot wait to make new memories with little Miss Isla.  She sure does get showered with love by Auntie Kayla (which I absolutely love doing).  The next time I see her could not come soon enough.  Patience is most definitely a virtue.
